Bridges of Being

This body of work explores elements of the subconscious interlaced with the natural and mythical world; through visual illusions, contrasting vivid and muted colours, and the prevalence of archetypal symbols, the viewer’s realm of imagination is called to the forefront of the mind and jolted into inquiry.

The images come to me via active imagination, dreams, meditation, and plant medicine. The style is influenced by a number of historical artists and thinkers, namely: Dr. Carl Jung, Dr, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Salvador Dali, MC Escher, Leonara Carrington, and Frida Kahlo.

I focus on themes of duality, growth and decay, hope and despair, the life-death-life cycle, magical quintessence, and quests for source.
